APIPA 2021: Virtual Conference

Welcome to the Association of Pacific Islands Public Auditors’ 32nd Annual Conference! APIPA 2021 will run from Monday, August 23 through Friday, September 3. APIPA will be delivered virtually this year, and you can expect the same high-quality training you’re used to! From our Monday and Friday plenary sessions to two tracks of training each Tuesday through Thursday, you can choose the topics and sessions that work best for your training needs.

APIPA has more than three decades of training experience, matching our partnership with the Pacific & Virgin Islands Training Initiatives (PITI-VITI) to stage another excellent conference. Please view this year’s training sessions, instructors, and schedule, then select the training sessions that best meet your needs and register to join us. Plan on two weeks of excellent training and the opportunity to earn up to 40 Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits.

Please contact the APIPA Secretariat with any questions. We look forward to seeing you on August 23! Welcome!

Welcome and Talofa!

The pandemic has changed some things, but has not changed others. While travel restrictions impact many of our islands, we will still require top-notch training to continue providing excellent service to our communities and our organizations.

Our APIPA 2021 conference will be offered virtually – like last year – continuing our innovative effort to offer training that will span the miles between us. We may not be able to travel, but we still need to maintain our professional competencies.

Despite differences in time zones and latitudes, I am very pleased to welcome you to our 32nd Annual Association of Pacific Islands Public Auditors (APIPA) Conference! APIPA 2021 will help you maintain needed training and expand new approaches to build on our governments’ important audit and accountability efforts.

I look forward to seeing you in our sessions, from Monday, August 23 through Friday, September 3, 2021. APIPA will offer 16 four-hour blocks of training sessions, including four plenary sessions and choices of 12 additional sessions – even more if you opt to switch between our two tracks. The plenary sessions on each Monday and Friday are sessions of general interest to participants, and each track day will offer one or two topics of general interest, as well as a technical topic in auditing and accountability. With these 16 half-day courses and the opportunity to earn up to 40 hours of continuing professional education over our conference’s two weeks, you will find this year’s conference invaluable to your professional development.

We appreciate the United States Department of the Interior's Office of Insular Affairs, as well as the Pacific & Virgin Islands Training Initiatives (PITI-VITI), for their ongoing support of APIPA and our annual conferences. In addition, we thank Graduate School USA for their work securing outstanding instructors. Finally, we thank the Department of the Interior's Office of Inspector General for their continued support of the APIPA principals and offices.

Thank you for joining us for this important conference. Pandemics may keep us apart in the short term, but as we look forward, training will continue to bridge our oceans’ miles and time zones to keep us up-to-date on accountability – which is now more important than ever. Enjoy these opportunities!

Welcome!
